The Problem

In the world of school book fairs, fewer things feel worse than seeing a kid come with his classmates, looking at the books, and leaving emptyhanded. It’s awful for the kid. It’s awful for the school. It’s awful for the booksellers. It’s inequity at its core, and it’s preventable.

Our Solution

FAIR Fund Chicago was created for this purpose. We remove the financial barrier for these students, so no one feels left out. Literacy is for everyone! Every student who comes to a FAIR Fund Chicago-funded book fair gets a $25 voucher to choose books freely. No cost. No stigma. No exceptions.
